Companies shaping the future need advisors who have navigated converging forces of change, pressure and uncertainty. That’s why we are thrilled to welcome Evelyn Tay as Senior Advisor.
Evelyn brings more than 25 years of global communications and public affairs leadership experience across Asia, Europe and the U.S. She has played pivotal roles at some of the world’s most transformative technology companies in their formative years.
Evelyn was Uber’s first communications head in Asia Pacific, where she led PR and crisis communications in 50 cities in 14 countries, and laid the foundations for the company’s brand reputation in the region. She later joined Tesla as APAC Communications Director, responsible for corporate, product, executive and crisis communications at a time when rapid mass adoption of electric vehicles was sweeping across the region. Most recently, Evelyn served as VP of Communications, Public Affairs and ESG at foodpanda, and interim Global Head of Public Affairs at Delivery Hero where she led key efforts that shaped gig economy regulations and policy communications in dozens of countries.
Across these roles, Evelyn has built high-performing teams, guided companies and its leadership through regulatory and reputational challenges, while managing crisis and issues management strategies in high-growth, high-stakes scenarios.
“I’m energised by helping organisations drive transformation and shape what's next. Public affairs, when done right, bridges innovation with trust and understanding - the foundation for lasting impact. Emergent’s mission to help emerging technologies grow responsibly and confidently is one I admire.”
Her experience is deeply aligned with Emergent’s mission: helping emerging technologies and disruptive solutions earn trust, legitimacy and the licence to grow.
We are excited to draw on Evelyn’s depth of experience for our clients, and look forward to her counsel.
