The Role
As an Associate at Emergent, you’ll be at the ground floor of shaping how tomorrow’s most important technologies engage with the world. You’ll dive deep into research, sharpen insights into action, and contribute to client work that spans regulatory strategy, stakeholder mapping, narrative framing, and policy influence.
This is more than an entry-level role - it’s an on-ramp to strategic advisory. You’ll collaborate closely with senior consultants and directors, learning the ropes while making meaningful contributions from day one. Key Responsibilities

Conduct in-depth research and monitoring on regulatory, political, and industry developments across Asia-Pacific

Draft briefing notes, stakeholder maps, policy summaries, and communications materials

Support the delivery of client work including project coordination, content development, and insight generation

Help track project timelines, maintain quality standards, and contribute to client reporting

Work with colleagues across policy, narrative, and design to produce sharp, strategic, and visually compelling outputs

Contribute to knowledge-building, internal processes, and business development efforts

What We’re Looking For
​

1 - 4 years of experience in public affairs, policy research, communications, consulting, or related fields

Strong research, analytical, and writing skills - clear thinkers who can turn complexity into insight

Regional interest or experience in Southeast Asia, with an eye on political, regulatory, or economic trends
-
Familiarity with issues in tech, sustainability, or trade is a bonus
-
Highly collaborative, detail-oriented, and proactive in solving problems

Hungry to learn, adaptable, and excited to work in a fast-moving, growing team
