The Role

 

As a Consultant at Emergent, you won’t just be following the playbook, you’ll help write it. You’ll be a core part of our strategic advisory team, guiding breakthrough companies as they navigate complex policy and regulatory frontiers. Whether you're decoding a new regulation, shaping a narrative that shifts perceptions, or forging relationships that drive impact, your work will matter - fast.

This is a launchpad for ambitious thinkers with sharp instincts, storytelling flair, and a drive to be more than a traditional public affairs practitioner. It’s for someone ready to step up as a trusted advisor to clients, with the space, support, and exposure to grow in this field.

Key Responsibilities

​

  • Lead and deliver workstreams for clients, from policy research and regulatory analysis to narrative development and stakeholder strategy

  • Track and interpret political, policy, and industry developments across key Asia-Pacific markets, identifying implications and opportunities for clients

  • Craft high-quality materials - including briefing notes, stakeholder maps, op-eds, policy submissions, and thought leadership 

  • Collaborate across disciplines, working closely with colleagues in policy, narrative, and design to produce integrated, creative, and strategic outcomes

  • Contribute to the growth of the firm by supporting business development, building internal capabilities, and shaping knowledge assets

What We’re Looking For

​

  • 4 - 7 years of experience in public affairs, government relations, policy research, strategic communications, or consulting

  • Strong regional knowledge of political, economic, or regulatory issues in the region

  • Experience in sectors such as tech, sustainability, innovation, or trade is a plus

  • Exceptional writing, research, project management, and critical thinking skills

  • High degree of ownership, professionalism, and curiosity

  • Comfortable in fast-paced, ambiguous environments - you figure things out
