Consultant (Policy Comms)

Location: Singapore (preferred) or Australia/Southeast Asia (remote)
Type: Full-time

The Role

You will be a core part of our strategic advisory team, helping technology companies build the narratives and messaging that shape how they're understood by government, media, and the public. Whether you're drafting an op-ed, preparing a client for a high-stakes media moment, or building a communications and media strategy, your work will directly inform how clients engage with these audiences.

This is a launchpad for ambitious, sharp writers ready to deepen and apply their expertise in strategic communications, while operating in an integrated public affairs context - connecting narrative to policy and stakeholder engagement as a trusted advisor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver discrete client workstreams end-to-end, spanning narrative development, messaging strategy, and media engagement

  • Monitor political, policy, and media developments across key Asia-Pacific markets, distilling implications into clear communications recommendations for clients

  • Lead the development of high-quality outputs including op-eds, press materials, talking points, and briefing decks - aligned to clients' objectives

  • Partner with senior team members to shape communications strategy and contribute meaningfully to internal and external discussions and presentations

  • Collaborate across policy, narrative, and creative teams to produce integrated, coherent deliverables

  • Support the development of junior team members through guidance, feedback, and quality control on outputs

What We’re Looking For

  • Demonstrated ability to drive workstreams effectively towards strong outcomes

  • Developing expertise in strategic communications and media engagement, with the ability to think and operate in an integrated public affairs context

  • Sound judgement, professionalism, and intellectual rigour

  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with evolving priorities

Experience & Skills

You should have:

  • 4-6 years of experience in strategic communications, media relations, journalism, or a related field

  • Strong writing, research, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to write for both a regulator and a journalist

  • Sound understanding of political, media, or industry dynamics across Asia-Pacific

Bonus points if:

  • Have experience in media relations, journalism, or corporate/agency communications specifically

  • Have worked in-house at a tech company, in an industry association, or with government communications teams

  • Enjoy translating complex policy issues into clear, compelling narratives
